The Signature 10-Step Facial

While customizable, professional facials follow a standard procedure to ensure consistent, effective results.

1

Consultation & Prep

Review the client's form, discuss concerns, and prepare them for the treatment by wrapping their hair.

2

Initial & Deep Cleanse

Perform two rounds of cleansing: first to remove makeup, second to deep clean based on skin type.

3

Skin Analysis

Use a magnifying lamp to analyze the client's skin type, conditions, and areas of concern.

4

Exfoliation

Apply a physical or chemical exfoliant to remove dead skin cells from the stratum corneum, revealing brighter skin.

5

Steam & Extractions

Use a facial steamer to soften pore congestion, followed by gentle and hygienic extractions if necessary.

6

Massage

Perform a relaxing facial massage to increase circulation, promote lymphatic drainage, and enhance product absorption.

7

Mask Application

Apply a mask targeted to the client's specific skin concerns, such as hydration, purification, or calming.

8

Toning

Apply toner to remove any remaining residue and rebalance the skin's natural pH level.

9

Final Hydration

Apply a targeted serum and moisturizer to nourish and hydrate the skin, locking in the benefits of the facial.

10

Sun Protection

The most critical final step: apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect the skin from UV damage.

The Power of Touch

The five basic massage manipulations form the foundation of a therapeutic and effective facial massage.

Movement Description Effect
Effleurage A light, continuous stroking movement applied with the fingers or palms in a slow, rhythmic manner. Soothing and relaxing.
Pétrissage A kneading movement performed by lifting, squeezing, and pressing the tissue with a light, firm pressure. Stimulates underlying tissues.
Friction A deep rubbing movement. Pressure is applied on the skin with the fingers or palm while moving them over an underlying structure. Increases circulation and glandular activity.
Tapotement Consists of short, quick tapping, slapping, and hacking movements. It is the most stimulating movement. Tones muscles and stimulates nerves.
Vibration A rapid shaking of the body part while the balls of the fingertips are pressed firmly on the point of application. Highly stimulating.
